About LifeConnect24

Do you have questions about LifeConnect24? Please see below for answers to the most frequently asked questions about LifeConnect24.

Can we reach you on an alternative telephone number?

Yes. If you are unable to call our freephone contact number, 0800 999 0400, then you can call our landline telephone number - 01603 673385.

Do I need internet?

No, none of our personal alarms require an internet connection. Our Lifeline Vi Alarm and Fall Detector require a landline connection and mains power only.

Do you offer a Fall Detector pendant?

We do offer the Fall Detector by Tunstall. The Vibby will automatically place a call through to our Monitoring Team when it senses a sudden drop in altitude. It can also be pressed in the same way as the standard MyAmie pendant.

We often recommend Fall Detectors to users who are prone to blackouts or suffer from conditions such as epilepsy or Parkinson’s disease and may be unable to press a button themselves.

You can order a Fall Detector or upgrade your standard pendant by contacting us on 0800 999 0400.

Does it need a landline?

Our Lifeline Vi Alarm unit does require a landline connection.

How do I know who my current Lifeline provider is?

If you or someone you know has a Lifeline alarm and you are not sure who has supplied it, there are a few things that you can try. Normally, the equipment itself will indicate who has supplied it. For example, all our personal alarms have a sticker on the unit with our contact details. Failing this, you can activate the alarm and ask the team that you connect to who the alarm is provided by or you can check the alarm user’s bank statements where the company name would be listed.

How does a Lifeline Alarm work?

It uses your landline telephone connection to call through to our Response Team in emergencies. The built-in loudspeaker allows our team to communicate with you when you need help – it’s loud enough that you can hear it even if you’re in another room. Find out more

How would I cancel my alarm service?

If the service is cancelled within 30 days of ordering, we are happy to refund the initial cost. In order to cancel, you can contact us on 0800 999 0400. If you are on a monthly plan, we ask for one month's notice in advance of a cancellation; if you are on an annual plan, we request one month's notice before the end of the 12-month contract. Annual plan holders can also choose to transfer the service to another user as opposed to cancelling.

LifeConnect24 are TSA accredited, what does that mean?

TSA stands for the Telecare Services Association, which is the industry and standards body for telecare and telehealth services in the UK. Learn more about how we earned accreditation here.

What is a Lifeline Alarm?

A Lifeline Alarm is a way to call for help quickly and easily when it may otherwise be difficult to do so. For more information, take a look at our in-depth guide to the personal alarm.

What is the alarm-linked Smoke Detector?

Smoke Detectors are installed at a property to detect and reduce the risk of fires. The Tunstall smoke detector will let out an audible local alarm when it detects smoke, and it will also prompt your LifeConnect24 alarm to contact our response team, just as the pendant does.

From here, one of our experienced operators on the response team will contact the emergency services or your emergency contacts - providing you with an immediate response to any fires at your property. You will still be able to communicate with our response team through the base unit of the alarm during this time.

To install your Tunstall smoke detector you would simply need to fit a small bracket to the ceiling either with the fixtures provided or with Velcro. Once this is fixed in position, you can clip the smoke detector into the bracket and test it by pressing and holding down the “test” button for three seconds. This will place a call through to our response team who will be happy to handle the rest.

If you order your smoke detector at the same time as your Lifeline alarm, the detector will already be linked to your alarm unit. If you order the detector later, it will come with clear and detailed instructions to link it to your current base unit.
