We provide a personal alarm service throughout the UK. Our personal alarms are simple and straightforward to use, keeping you in safe hands 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Our personal alarms connect you to our TSA-accredited Response Team at the touch of a button, or using our automatic fall detection technology.

HOW TO USE YOUR PERSONAL ALARM

1. Activate your alarm

Whenever help is needed, activate your alarm. This can be done by pressing the alarm button on your base unit or alarm pendant. If you have purchased one of our fall detector packages, the pendant can also raise an automatic alert if it senses you have fallen.

2. Response Team answer

Your alert will be sent to our specially trained Response Team. They will answer the alert through the alarm base unitā€™s loudspeaker and assess the situation before taking appropriate action.

3. Nominated contacts alerted

Our Response Team arrange help on your behalf by informing your Emergency Contacts that help is required. In a medical emergency, we will also alert the emergency services. If, for any reason, you cannot hear our team or respond to them, we will continue to arrange help. If the emergency services are called, the Response Team will also pass on any relevant information regarding medical conditions, allergies, or medication.

Installing your personal alarm

We provide a range of personal alarms to suit our customersā€™ needs, providing support throughout the home and garden. Depending on the alarm plan you choose, your alarm will likely come in two parts:

1. An Alarm Base Unit
2. An Alarm Pendant

Your base unit is plugged into your homeā€™s mains power supply. If you choose one of our analogue alarms, you will also require an analogue phoneline connection to connect to our Response Team. Our digital alarms do not require this, and instead connect via a roaming mobile connection, meaning they can be plugged into any room. Your base unit should be placed in a well-ventilated space, and not be placed on top of anything metal.

Your alarm pendant can be worn around your neck or on your wrist and is waterproof, meaning there is no need to take it off, even when bathing or in the shower. They are also lightweight and discreet, with an alert range of between 75-300m, providing peace of mind throughout the home and garden.

 

Your Emergency Contacts

When you purchase your personal alarm, we will ask you to complete a New Customer form. As part of this form, we ask that you provide us with the details of at least two people who can act as emergency contacts. When your alarm is activated, these are the people our Response Team will contact to arrange help. They could be:

1. Relatives
2. Close Friends
3. Neighbours
4. Carers

Please keep in mind that our Response Team can only contact people who have been named as Emergency Contacts.

 

Your 24-Hour Response Team

Our Response Team are always available to answer an alarm call. This means you are in safe hands 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, providing round-the-clock peace of mind. When you activate your alarm, you will be connected to our Response Team, who are specially trained to provide reassurance whilst arranging the help you need.

Our Response Team have also been accredited by the TEC Services Association (TSA), who are the industry standards body for telecare services in the UK.

Personal Alarm VAT Exemption

More than 90% of LifeConnect24 customers are eligible for VAT Exemption on their personal alarm. To be eligible, the personal alarm must be purchased for your own use, and you must have a chronic or long-term health condition or impairment that impacts your ability to perform everyday activities.

Personal Alarm Additions and Extras

Automatic Fall DetectionĀ 

Our personal alarm plans are all compatible with our automatic fall detection upgrade. This provides extra peace of mind for you and your loved ones, sending an automatic alert to our Response Team if it senses you have fallen.

The fall detection pendant can also be activated in the same way as a traditional pendant, by pressing the button to send an alert.

In an emergency, we always recommend manually activating your fall detector pendant, if you are able, to make sure an alert is sent.

Alarm Linked Smoke DetectorĀ 

The LifeConnect Smoke Detector can be linked to your personal alarm for an extra layer of security. When it detects smoke, the alarm will sound and automatically alert our Response Team, who will then contact emergency services and/or your emergency contacts.

Additional Pendant

For extra reassurance around the home, all our personal alarms can be paired with an additional pendant. A second pendant is ideal for use as a spare if you misplace one, or it can be used to cover a second person in the same household under one personal alarm plan.

Key SafesĀ 

A key safe is a secure way to allow your emergency contacts or the emergency services to enter your home immediately if you cannot get to the door. Our customers often choose to share their code with our Response Team, making it easier for help to reach you when you need it.
